This is when I started training to become an antenatal teacher with the National Childbirth Trust. I taught NCT classes for 10 years and enjoyed every single one of them as it fed my passion for science, birth and helping people in their personal development. I also trained to teach the use of self hypnosis for childbirth because I believe that using hypnosis can have an amazing impact on preparing for the birth of a baby. However, I quickly got frustrated because I wanted to use hypnosis in many other areas rather than just childbirth.
This is when I came across the Quest Institute and decided to enrol on their course. I never looked back. I thoroughly enjoy my work as a cognitive hypnotherapist. I find it amazing to see change happen so quickly for people who sometimes had been struggling for a while with their problem.
Graduation after training with the Quest Institute is achieved through the submission of the Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma, which is externally validated by the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH).
Recently, members of the NCH have been welcome on the CNHC register. The CNHC (Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council) is the only organisation endorsed by the Department of Health. The DoH recommends that people looking for complementary healthcare practitioners use someone who is CNHC-registered (DoH, January 2011).
